Watch this very addictive series and the urge to refresh your space can quietly creep in. The hotel featured is set along a pristine beach on Koh Samui, an island off Thailand’s east coast.

I am going to have a shot at demonstrating how you can copy this decadent escape into your home or commercial space, so you can get the same mystical and mysterious vibe happening.

You would not be reading this if you did not love luxury with an edge, so stay with me.

Is it the overdone vintage furniture, lush hues, or the tropical shady palms softly swaying in the night? For me, I am a ‘lighting enthusiast’ so the oversized bedside table lamps in the guest rooms (yes everyone is noticing them) immediately packed a powerful punch, and I have no doubt it will attract interior copyists around the world.

If your taste runs to the very expensive, then do keep reading!

The architecture is a real winner for me too, and I am impressed how it influences the emotions of the guests (and the viewers).  My instinct is to observe nature, and the textures and designs used are clearly inspired by the raw landscape. The paired clean modern touches with traditional elements of wood carvings and pitched roofs, transition easily and effortlessly between indoor and outdoor, immerging into an authentic and very much serene location, but it holds tension at the same time does it not!

And how about the sultry colour palette, which I understand is never accidental, and lends to the hyper reality of this deceitful storyline. And no guest room is complete without a traditional rug underfoot, or a Thai silk bedspread elegantly sitting atop to create your own adult oasis. This is all about evoking emotion and tantalising the viewer’s eye, no doubt.

Mapping the narrative of the last two series, there is a huge attempt at nature softening the edges of opulence (or does it). The viewers are lured by the way the show plays with lighting and sound.

The awe-inspiring views of the of lush tropical mangrove forests are constantly appearing (and that clever long-tailed monkey AKA a macaque slipping between the chaos) spooks me a little I have to say.

At night, the forest hums with cicadas and frogs, and the occasional scary rustle of something unseen.

Inspiring decor.

If you are as creative and invested as I am, then you can almost smell the candles and incense coming through the screen. You feel inspired to create that multi-sensory luxury at home, as the atmosphere thickens, and the story pulls you in.

Candles that are as good as the story line.
The colour story that pulls you in as much as the twisters.

Now, designer fashion content writing is not my domain, but the attire deserves a round of applause. Every outfit felt like part of the set design. Think muted neutrals and bold silk prints that match the décor scattered throughout the hotel and guest rooms.

But let me bring it back to helping you decorate your space with style.

A traditional rug underfoot sets the tone and vibe.

Here are six intentional pieces to create your own luxury hotel-inspired bedroom from The White Lotus experience:

1.     Oversized Table Lamps

2.    Black Timber Framed Bed

3.    Oversized Mysterious Artwork

4.    A Ceiling Fan

5.    Dark Bedside Tables

6.    Linen Block Printed Cushions

Oversized Artwork

Linen block cushions for depth.
Balance your intentional colour with your decor.

A decadent bathroom alongside your hotel inspired bedroom for the perfect finishing touch.

Conclusion

Arguably, The White Lotus may be the most popular series right now and “you have got to see it” is permeating in everyone’s ear (unless you live under a rock).

Thank you for staying with me till the end. I am usually the first to hit ‘Skip Intro’ when streaming a series, but great design deserves to be taken in, every texture, every detail, because it will be the decor that stays with us the longest.
